Cece’s Closet is an upscale women’s fashion boutique featuring an eclectic inventory of unusual designer clothing and accessories (including jewelry and cosmetics) from the collections of cutting edge contemporary fashion designers.

The boutique is located in a shopping center where business entrances abut one another in pairs. The business next door to Cece’s Closet had been using the full marquee above both doors for their signage. Our sign solution had to express the upscale yet playful feel of our client, and also be aesthetically different from the shop next door so as not to confuse customers to either business.

This one-of-a-kind signage solution was custom fabricated by Big Swell Design in collaboration with a team of artists, to withstand the harsh Caribbean sun in this west-facing location.

We created high-gloss heavy black panels for the marquee over the door to contrast with the white Plasticore panels of the adjoining business signage. An additional panel displayed when the store’s security door is closed gives information about appointments, and the dimensional cut-out hot pink dress swings on a hand-cut stainless steel “hanger” attached to the wall with a custom stainless bracket.

After opening, the store added some limited regular hours, so a hot pink “OPEN”/“SALE” sign was created to hang on the outside security door whenever the store is open to attract additional walk-in traffic.

“It looks fantastic! It’s perfect!! I love it!!” – Cece Edwards
